On achieving its hat-trick of housekeeping Gold CAP Awards, the Spire Wellesley Hospital in Southend on Sea qualified to aim for the Platinum CAP Award. With more exacting standards, the ambition of the Housekeeping team and the Hospital are to be applauded. To sum up the scale of the Hospital’s ambition, their goal was to become the first in England to ascend to the Platinum Award.
In September, the CAP team arrived to undertake the unannounced inspection of the team’s and Hospital’s cleaning service. In late September, it was confirmed that the Housekeeping team and Hospital had delivered on their goal to do the very best for their patients. It was official, the first Platinum Award in England
Ian Jackson, CAP Chief Assessor, commended “the drive and ambition of the team is a credit not only to the hospital, but to the entire housekeeping industry.
He went on to say “the journey through the required three years of progression with the GOLD standing demonstrates what can be achieved with determination, the involvement of the wider Hospital team, pure hard work and belief. The planned infrastructure improvements, consistent communications, a focus of every aspect of cleanliness and a coordinated approach have all contributed essential ingredients to delivering this overall success”.
A unique place will now always belong to the Housekeeping and Hospital team at the Spire Wellesley Hospital – 1st Platinum CAP Award in England on Friday 23rd September 2022
