Double Platinum Awards for Spire Fylde Coast Hospital in 2025

June 12, 2025

The Spire Fylde Coast Hospital in Blackpool has once again proven its commitment to its patients. Following the unannounced assessment visits, the Housekeeping and Catering teams have surpassed their 2024 achievements. The Hospital has received confirmation on their achievement of the Platinum Award for both its standards of catering and cleanliness from the Continuous Advancement Programme (CAP).

To achieve a Gold award for these services is a fantastic achievement – To target and deliver continued progression is of enormous credit to all involved. In addition, the Housekeeping and Catering teams have become the first Hospital to hold this double Award in the North of the UK and indeed are currently one of only three Hospitals holding the Platinum Award for Catering services within the UK.

In catering, the hospital’s kitchens really went the extra mile. Achieving Gold last year was a great result, but this year the team excelled itself, with high-quality food that went beyond the nutritional and taste standards necessary to secure CAP’s highest possible Award.

As part of its Strategy, the Hospital is committed to providing exceptional care for its patients, and cleanliness and catering play a major role. The Continuous Advancement Programme is vital to making sure the hospital maintains the highest possible standards.

The Hospital Director Lesley Locke said: “The Spire Fylde Coast Hospital is justifiably proud of its record in housekeeping and catering. To achieve the Gold Award in both areas for three years in a row is a testament to the commitment of our teams and our dedication to providing positive experiences and outcomes for our visitors. To continue to build on the service delivery is an exception performance”.
